It’s so lovely to see you! We have decided that May gets its name from ‘Mayhem’ because that is exactly what it’s been for us here at Future Friends! 🙃 Game industry friends, are we all okay? Don’t answer that.
We are SO excited to share with you everything that’s been going on and spill a secret we’ve been keeping… so buckle up because it is A LOT!
🪴 FFG develops games now too! 🪴
Introducing… Pottering! Our first ever FFG game as developers!! It’s true!!! We decided it was time to do as the kids say and touch some grass. So we made a multiplayer gardening game! And in true FFG fashion, it’s something very silly to do with friends!
This has been an in-house project for a while now and we have been DESPERATE to share the very silly recordings of the FFG gang kicking each other, smooching in a treehouse (don’t worry about it, HR) and sometimes tending to the garden... And now we can!! Check out the trailer below to get some snippets from our very serious playtests!
Pottering is a casual gardening game where you and your friends restore a garden to its former glory, or just mess around playing the trumpet and hitting each other with spades. Hang out with friends, explore a hand-crafted world and maybe uncover some secrets as you potter along!
We announced the big news in the Cozy Games Awards Showcase. Thank you to Rokaplay for having us and so many other great games! ♥️ And super huge shout out to FFG main dev Adam and super producer Emma for wrangling us together and making sense of our silly ideas! We are making a game!!!

🐈 Rural Cat Trails, a nostalgic cat adventure game, has joined our PUBLISHING line up!! This is a lovely game about exploration, curiosity, and the unhurried joy of being a cat in the Japanese countryside during cherry blossom season. What’s not love?
☀️Slots & Daggers and SUMMERHOUSE, the two super cool games by super sweet solo dev Friedemann, LAUNCHED on consoles! That’s right! Arm yourself to the teeth and set out on an adventure across strange and dangerous lands! Or relax and craft a neighbourhood of tiny, beautiful lived-in homes in a variety of settings. Slots & Daggers and SUMMERHOUSE are both available on PS5, Switch and Xbox Play anywhere!
🌍 Starvester, our out of this world game, LAUNCHES this month (TOMORROW)! I know I know, it feels like only yesterday we announced we were publishing this one. What a quick turn around! If you are looking for a satisfying incremental game about building megastructures in space via star-system wide factories then this is the game for you!! Click, click, click the planets, deploy swarms of drones, mine resources, unlock upgrades and harvest the power of the stars!
🎲 STICKER/BALL, our chaotic pool roguelike game, LAUNCHED this month! This super combo-driven roguelike lets you fight Mr Clippys evil cousin, Clip, and is kinda like pinball except there’s dice and stickers and sometimes UFO ships hijacked by frogs… It’s silly! It’s fun! It’s out now!
🐟 Tiny Aquarium, our social fishkeeping game, just launched an IN-GAME EVENT, got a free UPDATE and LAUNCHED on mobile! The Sakura event introduces new species, decorations for your tank, and more! The update also adds loads of great content like a catfish that wears a top hat! And to top(hat) it all off, you can now play on the go!📱

Can you believe it? We’ve acquired ANOTHER cool person to join us. That’s right! Charlie has officially joined the FFG team!
Before you all rush to welcome the lovely Charlie, here are some fun facts about them:
Originally from France, and after a long stay in the UK, now lives in Sweden (making her officially the northernmost Friend!)
Once accidentally woke up in the wrong country
Has two cats called Luna and Artemis. Maybe officially named after the moon and the NASA mission, or maybe named after the two cats in Sailor Moon… you’ll never know

🎂 Many of the FFG gang celebrated their birthday this month! Kris, Louisa, Cruz, Laura, Grace, Coots (Emma’s fur cootie patootie) and Conker (Adam’s small but mighty yapper) all aged up! Happy Birthday to them!
📲 Louisa was invited onto a panel at London’s MCM Comic Con to discuss her job at this very real company. If you were not there, then you missed Louisa saying, and I quote, “I make piss memes. piss!”. We are very proud of her. She only said the word ‘piss’ three times. Incredible.
🎮 Abi has had a busy month! She shared her insider influencer marketing knowledge on the panel ‘Indie Insights: Lightning Round – Market Research, Content Strategy, & Engaging Influencers’ in Bristol at Impact Games. That’s not all! Abi also appeared in two more panels, ‘Finding your Niche and Creating a Community’ and ‘Fandom Fortunes’ at London’s MCM Comic Con. Not only did she hold many microphones and spoke at many panels, she was also one of the models for the official MCM merchandise!!! Look at her go!

⛳ Announcing a very Normal Golf Game! Doing pretty much what it says on the tin, Normal Golf Game is a relaxing tribute to God’s noblest sport by indie dev Luke Muscat (Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride). Don’t worry about the name… it’s a totally normal game about golf. Except you wake up on a gigantic golf course, trapped, disoriented, and $100,000 in debt to a deranged game designer calling himself ‘Luke Muscat’. Golfing got you into this mess. Can golfing get you out?
⚔️ Get your paperwork in order in Ledgerbound, launching on July 14th! The turn-based tactical RPG, featuring comedic writing from Helldivers 2’s former Narrative Director, blends tactical party-based combat, bureaucratic worldbuilding, and very peculiar love interests to romance (all HR approved, of course).

We’ve got big VR news, as the Creature Feature 2026 showcase was this month! This delightfully named showcase is the latest from the Creature label featuring signed game developers, as well as friends, Future Friends Games (hey, that’s us!) and Flat2VR. There were so many announcements, new game reveals, release date reveals, content updates and more! Here are a few we had a hand in this month!
🧭 Take flight in Compass VR, launching on May 28th! Skyward adventurers, are you ready? Canadian studio TREBUCHET announced the release date for its open world VR flight adventure, Compass VR. Pilot your ship through long lost skies, gradually upgrade it to venture farther and brave more dangerous routes, search for your missing companions and maybe discover what lies beyond the horizon. Compass VR is also heading to Meta Quest 3/3S and PlayStation VR2!
🌭 Shoot and loot in Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades 2 (H3VR2)! The sequel the award-winning, best-selling Immersive FPS exists for real. It’s true. Fight your way through an endless proc-gen megastructure or chill out and plink on the range. Developer RUST LTD (H3VR, Typing Simulator) revealed the upcoming sequel is heading to Meta Quest 3/3S and Steam.
🪐 Fix up faraway worlds in Janet’s Planets! Welcome to the friendliest VR terraforming service in the Milky Way with a delightful rhyming name! Studio Really Interactive (Toran, Virtuoso) revealed its next game, intergalactic narrative adventure Janet’s Planets, is heading to Meta Quest 3/3S and SteamVR. Repair planets, meet the aliens who live there, and make yourself at home among the stars.
🧩 Repair a scrambled world in Wordbound! Prepare to become a powerful wordsmith in this cozy puzzle game by Canadian studio Kettle Games. Stretch objects until they burst into letter tiles, rearrange tiles to spell new words, and squish words to create objects. Wordbound will have a Steam and Meta release!
What a month!! The summer of games is truly on it’s way!
